In another time, I discuss How to Get Google Scholar ID of a Journal. The reason, as I stated in that post, is that many users do not include the IDs correctly. For the same reason, now I want to share with you how to get Index Copernicus ID of a journal so that you can add the ID to a journal OJStat.
Index Copernicus is, just like Google Scholar, an online database of user-contributed information, including profiles of scientists, as well as of scientific institutions, publications and projects established in 1999 in Poland, and operated by Index Copernicus International. The database, named after Nicolaus Copernicus (who triggered the Copernican Revolution), has several assessment tools to track the impact of scientific works and publications, individual scientists, or research institutions. In addition to the productivity aspects, IC also offers the traditional abstracting and indexing of scientific publications (Wikipedia).
In order to have an Index Copernicus ID, a journal must be registered in the ICI World of Journals by visiting the page and click the Register button (click here).
You will be asked to enter the Basic Information and Contact Details to register your journal.
You will also need to verify your account and then you will need to add the journal issues, upload the full-texts, and so forth. Then, you will need to fill the survey questionnaire so that ICI can evaluate the journal and decide the Archival Rating. This questionnaire is requested annually.
Now, where is the Index Copernicus ID of your journal? The URL that refers to your journal page in Index Copernicus contains the ID and it is very clear. The typical URL to your ICI account is like below:
https://journals.indexcopernicus.com/search/details?id=50443
In the URL, you can see that the digits after the id= is the ID of your your journal in Index Copernicus. It is the ID that you must enter in the OJStat form (the Index Copernicus ID of the journal) so that OJStat can read the ratings.
